I Can Now Reveal…!

A couple of weeks ago, I told you all that I’ve been keeping the biggest secret ever. Of course, I understand the reasons why I’ve had to keep schtum, but maintaining my silence has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. In fact, I’ll go one step further and say it’s been torture. I’m such a scream and shout it from the rooftops kind of person!

Anyway, having been given the go-ahead to reveal all (drum roll, please) I’d like you to raise a glass for my son, Benjamin, and his beautiful wife, Cindy…

Yes, everyone, (getting tearful as I type this) they’re going to have a baby!

I know, I know, I’m way too young to be a grandmother (and too glamorous, I hear you say – obviously) but I soooooo can’t wait. This baby is an absolute gift. And to us, at least, already the most adored little being on the planet.

I wonder if we’ll have a little boy to add to our fine male Tullett specimens?

Or a little girl to make the numbers up?

Not that it matters, either way, as long as the baby’s healthy.

Although the happy parents-to-be do plan on finding out the sex and I, for one, can’t wait… Knitting needles at the ready.

So there you have it. That’s what I’ve been forced to keep to myself these last few weeks.

Anyone of you got any happy news you’d like to share? x

  1. Wow, that is wonderful congratulations Suzie to you (Nana to be) and your daughter and husband, wonderful news. Being a Nana is special….I hope you have a lovely life with the little one when he/she arrives. Someone to write a story for, as I did mine…perhaps? Fantastic. Enjoy the excitement.

  2. Aw, I'm sure you'll love the whole grandmother thing – it's wonderful! I having my second childhood with my 2 granddaughters (6 & 8) and baby Matthew 5 months. It's like falling in love all over again without the crap – well, apart from the nappies! Enjoy. Liz xx

  3. Fantatic news! Not only are you going to have a beautiful grandchild but you have a great new book coming out! (yes it is great, I'm loving it). Many many congrats on your wonderful news. And yes, you do look far too young and glam to be a granny! lol. x

  4. How very kind of you to say. Although Granny makes me sound far too old so sticking with Grandmother for now.Glad to hear you're enjoying the book. Poor Lydia has so much thrown at her and all of her own making… Think I'd have had a breakdown in her shoes, the poor woman x

  5. Just dropped in to see how you are now that you are getting used to it all. How fantastic. I expect the 4D scan photos almost made you jump. When I saw how clear they are (our first grand child – almost 8 years ago) and could make out all the features of the baby I was amazed. We could see it was a boy and who he looked like I almost didn't believe they were real. Now they are taken for granted, back then in the USA they cost the earth. But worth it to see the little one. Hope you have a wonderful time when the baby arrives. Granny, Grandma or Nanna? Ours already had Grandma and Grandpa spoken for so we opted for Nanna and Papa. See them so rarely they probably don't remember us so the names are pointless, but it is a label for life. Happy days to you all. xxxx

  6. I'm so looking forward to it, Jane, you wouldn't believe and you're right, the scan photos are fantastic. Benjamin said it feels so real now – it's one thing knowing they're going to have a baby, but quite another to see him or her. Come the next scan, we should know the sex and again, I can't wait x
